Dine In: Kitchen Hacks
If you weren’t spending time in the kitchen before, you probably are now. Here are five hacks to make it easier.
Prep Smoothie Ingredients in Freezer Bags
Spend less time cleaning and cutting, and more time enjoying. On Sunday, wash and cut your smoothie fruits for the week and put them in the freezer. Plus, frozen fruit adds a nice milkshake texture and you won’t need ice.
Make Hard-Boiled Eggs in a Muffin Tin
Heat oven to 350°F and place eggs in a muffin tin (no water necessary). For hard-boiled, bake for 30 minutes. For soft-boiled, 20 minutes. When done, transfer to an ice bath.
Make Your Own Buttermilk
Does this always happen: the muffins or pancakes that you want to make call for buttermilk, and that’s the only ingredient you’re missing? Well, you’re definitely not scooting to the market just for that. Instead, add a tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice to regular milk.
How to Clean a Skillet
If you’ve been using soap and water, stop immediately. Cast iron skillets are meant to have a buildup of flavors. Instead, use a salt scrub to remove food.
Make Meatloaf Muffins
Instead of a classic loaf pan, use a muffin tin. You just cut your cooking time down from 60 minutes to 15. You’re welcome!
